“Faith is the evidence of things unseen.”
Hebrews 11:1
One day after sunset, my husband and I
went for a walk. There were no lights or proper
walkways then. As we walked further into the dark, I was afraid of every step I
took forward. I asked him to flash the light from his mobile so that we would
know where to place our foot. But his response was quite an interesting one. He
asked me to place my hand in his. I did and asked for the flashlight again. He
replied, “I’m holding our hand, all you need is to enjoy the walk.”

True faith is not just lip service.
It’s about getting out of your comfort zone to the point that you’re
willing to step off the edge of safe and sure. Abraham heard and obeyed God’s
voice and he stepped out of his comfort zone, his cultural and social bubble
and marched onto an unknown land which God promised to show him. His
destination was obscure but he placed his hand in the hand of the one who
called him and stepped out in faith.
When you wonder, “Where’s this going? Where will
I end up? How will my future look?” all you need to do is, remember who is
holding your hand!
How does your perspective on difficult circumstances
change when you view them through the lens of God’s precious promises?
Yes, Amen
